The Beginning

     Hi There!

     Many of you know me; for those that don't, my name is Raul Antonio Noguera-McElroy. Yes, I know, that is a mouthful. Here, I will be chronicling the next four years of my life at Carleton College, where I start at on September 10th.

    I guess I should explain how I ended up choosing Carleton, especially since I'm from rural northern New Mexico. I remember wanting to go somewhere that was super LGBT friendly (yes, I like the D), somewhere that felt like home, and most importantly somewhere I could expand my horizons, as cheesy as that sounds.
 
   When I visited in October, near Halloween, I immediately fell in love. I applied ED II on January 15th (mostly because I couldn't get a quality application done by November 15th for ED I) and received my acceptance on February 7th, 2013. In fact, I remember dropping my acceptance letter in the mud by my mailbox when I was jumping for joy.

    Anyways, I hope you plan on following the next four roller-coaster years of my life. Enjoy the ride! I plan on it! Have a picture of my new home!
