Yesterday I went to Santa Fe for business; today, I get to go for more fun reasons, AKA school shopping and lunch with a friend!
Before we went though, I gave my friend, Anna Walters, a tour of the Taos County Court House, where my father works as a District Judge. I showed her the courtrooms, the jury suites, the offices, and the architecture that were around.
Afterwards, we drove to Tesuque, where I showed Anna the Santa Fe Mountain Center. While here, I ran into the new coordinator and the SFMC staff member who was training her (I'll reveal this since she's the new coordinator and it will be public knowledge soon anyways). The SFMC staff let me walk both Anna and the new coordinator around the place and introduce them to the ropes courses and high events, the beach, and the inside offices. Then, I said my last goodbyes to the SFMC until I return this November and December for Winter Break.
Next, Anna and I went to Santa Fe via the 58 from Tesuque (instead of via the highway). It took a little longer, but it was a gorgeous drive.
When we arrived in Santa Fe, we went to Il Piato for lunch (my first complete, solid meal since last Tuesday, when I celebrated my braces coming out). I ordered caesar salad, gnocchi, and tiramisu. Anna ordered squid, trout, and chocolate cake. The food and service were both amazing, although we were bugged by flies for the first half of our meal.
Then, we went to my appointment with the oral surgeon (a check-up). He told me I was good to go, as long as I washed my mouth with a spray thing to prevent food from getting stuck in my surgical wounds. Hehe, spray in my mouth (insert gay sex joke here).
After that, Anna and I went to Target, where we bought me school supplies and clothes. I got three new pants, three new shirts, a pair of shorts, and lots of stuff for college. I paid with the gift card I got from the Mountain Center for my work with the Youth Council. So basically, I got free clothes.
Then, I went to the Running Hub right off of Cordova (near the Whole Foods) and got new shoes that were New Balance, since those are the only ones that fit me. Anna bought them for me as a going away gift, for which I am eternally grateful.
Finally, after a long and exhausting day, we drove home. And that's my second trip to Santa Fe.
Have some pictures:
